Fashion, homeware and home furnishings retailer The White Company has reported a growth in sales as turnover climbed towards £300m.
According to its latest filed accounts for the year ended 3 August 2024, total sales rose 4% to £299.7m from £287.2m in 2023.
Pre-tax profit resulted at £20.7m, down from £32.2m recorded the previous year.
UK sales were up 4.1% from £265m to £276m, while export revenues increased 6.7% to £23.6m from £22.1m.
Stated within its report, the company said hat home category sales were 4%, while stores seeing 5% growth in the year and online up at 1%.
The year saw significant disruption during the second half as it moved to a new distribution centre in Corby, with online down 4% in that period.
During the year, the company opened its first store in Northern Ireland – Belfast, as well as adding five more small format stores in Farnham, Hitchin, Morpeth, Ringwood and St Andrews, which are all performing “ahead of expectations”. In July 2024, its first international store was also launched in the Dubai Mall.
