Office furniture manufacturer Dams has reported another year of strong sales with revenues remaining over £60m.
According to its latest filed accounts for the year ended 30 September 2024, total sales slipped to £60.8m from £63.3m in 2023.
Pre-tax profit resulted at £6.2m, down slightly from £6.4m recorded the previous year.
UK sales were down to £58.4m from £60.6m, while EU sales registered decreased to £2.2m from £2.5m. Sales outside the EU represented £129,000.
Stated within its report, Dams said: “Material costs and overheads were tightly managed throughout the year. Efficiency gains enjoyed as a result of the ERP system; operational improvements were dampened by increased freight charges as a result of the conflict in the middle east and resultant restrictions on shipping.
“Further investments were made into the Company’s infrastructure (people, plant and machinery, IT systems and distribution network) during the year as part of its program of continual investment. During the year the Company further strengthened its senior management team, adding skill, experience and expertise to key areas.
“Additional machinery was purchased for the seating factory further increasing production capacity and enhancing quality. Investment was made into a ‘mobile seating showroom’ during the year, giving the team the ability to showcase Dams products at our customers premises.”
