Independent German furniture retailer Möbel Hahn has confirmed plans to close, bringing an end to over 150 years of trading.
Situated on Kamper Straße in Solingen, Germany, the business, which is currently operated by the fifth generation with Thomas Schalwich as MD, said it will close at the end of 2025.
The company cited declining sales as the main reason behind the closure, while adding that it will fulfil all current orders as it begins to sell off remaining stock.
Möbel Hahn was originally founded as a cabinetmaker’s workshop in 1869 and began trading in furniture in 1885.
