Sales fall at boxed mattress brand; nears profit

Boxed mattress retailer Simba Sleep has reported a decline in sales while losses narrowed.

According to the latest filed accounts ended 31 December 2024, total sales fell 13% to £82.9m from £95m in 2023.

Adjusted EBITDA stood at £8.2m, improving from £6m, while pre-tax losses resulted at £128,000, narrowing from a loss of £753,000 the previous year.

Stated within its report, Simba said sales from online B2C stood at £78.3m, down from £91.7m, while retail B2B revenues rose from £3.2m to £4.6m.

“The Group achieved its fourth biggest ever turnover quarter in Q4 2024 and management are confident the Group gained market share.

“Despite continued inflationary pressures, Group gross profit margin was up to 54% in 2024 vs 50% in 2023.

“The Group started 2025 in a strong operational and financial position ready to take advantage of opportunities whilst managing the risks. The expected outlook for the 2025 year is for significant profitable growth in the UK vs 2024 whilst continuing to grow overseas markets. The Group expects to be cash generative in 2025.”
