Sales down at wood components supplier

Supplier of preformed wood components to the furniture industry, Stonebridge, has reported a decline in sales.

According to its latest filed accounts for the year ended 31 May 2025, total sales stood at £2.1m, down from £2.7m in 2024.

Operating profit fell from £376,000 to £150,000, while pre-tax profit resulted at £1m, improving from £285,000 recorded against the prior period.

Stated within its report, the company said: “The decrease in manufacturing activity in Slovakia, together with the partial disposal of a property during the year, were the key factors affecting the business during the year and had an adverse impact on the financial statements, as evidenced by reduced turnover and operating profit.”
