Bed retailer owner stuck in Dubai following missile attacks

The owner of independent beds retailer Home World – Mattress & Bed Centres has shared his story after being stuck in Dubai.

Grant Berry revealed that the situation is ‘tense’ after a number of Iranian drone and missile attacks have been fired towards the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in recent days, in response to US and Israeli strikes on Iran.

On the ground in Dubai, which has seen a number of its luxury landmarks hit by debris from intercepted missiles/drones, as well as the Dubai International Airport, Grant said that he and his family visited Dubai to celebrate his wife’s 60th birthday.

“We are here with our three grown up sons, daughter in law and baby granddaughter. It’s a very tricky and tense situation with missiles/drones being intercepted above our heads. It’s very noisy at times.

“Flights were cancelled but now are starting to reopen again, although some people are still struggling to get home, but there is hope now. Fingers crossed it continues.

“The Dubai defence system is doing a great job. It’s a scary time and we’re hopeful to return home soon.”
