To counter this Simpson Packaging have worked closely with its manufacturing partners to develop a new grade material made of blended high quality polymers containing a minimum of 30% post consumer recycled content extruded using the latest multi-layered co-extrusion technology.
In short, the new blended product offers a lighter weight material that is much stronger and more puncture proof than traditional bags. This innovation gives a higher grade, more environmentally friendly bag at a significantly reduced cost.
The material has been widely accepted across the furniture industry and the difference in quality is immediately apparent simply from the first touch and use. This range is also printed with the item description e.g. 3 seater settee, 3″6 mattress etc for ease of identification.
A further drive away from polythene has seen the ongoing development of a 100% paper range of covers for furniture and mattresses. Ideal for export wrapping where breathable, absorbent protection is required, fully recyclable and produced from a majority of recycled paper. When used in conjunction with kraft paper sealing tape the whole of the outer packaging can be baled and recycled without the need to split mixed waste, saving time and disposal costs.
Another major trend is the growth in reusable multi trip packaging protection.
