Independent furniture retailer Stocktons has announced plans to close, launching a grand closing down sale.
The retailer, which is based on Great Ancoats Street in Manchester, has launched a ‘£1.5m Closing Down Forever Grand Sale’, featuring luxury furniture and interiors with ‘massive reductions’ across sofas, dining sets and beds.
The closure brings down the curtain on over 70 years of trade with the company closing due to plans to redevelop the area to create housing, commercial and public spaces.
Established back in 1953, Stocktons will officially launch the closing down sale on Friday 13 March 2026.
“We’ve really enjoyed serving the people in the area over the past 73 years and we will bow out by giving customers one final chance to grab an unrepeatable deal before we close the doors for the final time,” the company said.
