Flooring firm grows profit despite slight sales fall

Commercial floorcoverings manufacturer Polyflor has reported a decline in sales as profit increased.

According to its latest filed accounts for the year ended 30 June 2025, total sales fell 4% to £166.5m from £173.7m in 2024.

Pre-tax profit resulted at £44.3m, up 6% from £42m recorded in the previous year.

UK sales rose to £111.6m from £110.7m, while EU and Scandinavian revenues declined to £22m from £25.3m. Rest of the world sales decreased to £32.8m from £37.6m.

Polyflor, part of the James Halstead Plc group, said: “The core UK business held firm and grew against difficult market conditions, but savings were essential given the volume declines, principally from the APAC region, that the factory faced.

“We remain confident that our portfolio of products is appropriate to the marketplace, and of future overseas growth backed by a robust market share in the UK.”
