Furniture brand submits plans to expand Stamford store

The Cotswold Company, the digitally-led premium handcrafted furniture and homeware brand, has revealed plans to expand its Stamford store.

According to a planning application submitted to South Kesteven District Council, the business intends to add another level of retail space upstairs to its store on Stamford High Street.

The two upper floors of store, which is a Grade II listed building, are currently used for storage and staff facilities, with plans to convert a section for further retail space.

The planning document states: “The proposals seek to sensitively convert part of the first floor into additional retail floor space ancillary to the existing ground floor shop, alongside accessibility improvements and enhanced means of escape.”

South Kesteven District Council’s planning committee are reviewing the application.

The brand recently announced the opening of its newest showroom in Kingston upon Thames alongside plans to open its 16th showroom at Redbrick, West Yorkshire. (See related).
