Homeware sales fell on the high street for a seventh straight week.
According to the latest BDO High Street Sales Tracker, total like-for-like (LFL) sales rose 1.2% for the week ending 19 April 2026.
Homewares total LFLs fell by -4.07%, from a base of +13.52% for the same week last year.

Commenting on the results, BDO said: “The pick up in total like-for-like (LFL) sales this week was driven by positive non-store sales across all categories (lifestyle, fashion, and homewares), and total fashion sales.
“The week began with cold-westerly air and showers, particularly in Scotland, before high pressure built in, bringing sunny, warmer conditions, especially across England and Wales.”
According to Springboard data, overall footfall fell by -2.8% this week, driven by shopping centres footfall (-3.6%), high street footfall (-3.0%), and retail parks (-1.6%).
