UK searches of furniture during June saw mattresses, sofas and dining furniture all perform strongly, while some independent carpet retailers experienced strong search surges.
According to Google search data analysed by Big Furniture Group, three days during June 2025 saw ‘furniture’ searches record an index score of 90 or more, while a score over 80 came in at nine days. The highest searched date was 7 June with a full score 100.
Google index’s its search data to 100. This means where 100 is the maximum search interest for the term selected, it is the highest value and indicates a high internet search.
The results saw related searches of specific terms that included ‘Oak Furnitureland’, up 1,050%, ‘bedroom furniture’, up 170%, and ‘Dusk furniture’, up 150%. Popular brand terms included ‘Sterling Furniture’, ‘Choice Furniture Superstore’, and ‘G Plan’, while ‘furniture charity shops near me’ were up 50%.
Other search terms Big Furniture Group reviewed included mattresses, bedroom furniture, dining furniture, living room furniture, sofas, carpets and flooring.
Mattresses
Mattress searches recorded six peak dates with an index score value of 90 or more. The highest searched date was 1 June with a full score of 100. Related brand searches saw Emma, Eight Sleep – up 500%, Relyon, Jay-Be, Sleepeezee, Harrison Spinks, Sealy, SleepSoul, Mattressman and Silentnight all perform strongly. The terms ‘8 sleep mattress’, ‘cooling mattress topper’, ‘japanese floor mattress’, ‘cooling mattress’, and ‘double bed mattress protector’ and ‘small double bed frame’ were all high searches with over 50%. Meanwhile, ‘are firm mattresses better for you’ and ‘can you take mattresses to the dump’ searches were breakout. Furthermore, ‘relyon mattress’ searches rose 3,650%, as well as ‘mattresses Edinburgh’ searches, up 3,450%.
Bedroom furniture
Bedroom furniture searches recorded three days of peak activity with an index value over 90. The highest searched date was 7 June with a full score of 100. Popular brand searches included Bensons for Beds, Sharps, The Cotswold Company, Oak Furnitureland, IKEA, Roseland, Furniture123, Sterling and Dreams. The terms ‘wooden chest of drawers’, ‘wicker bedroom furniture’, ‘grey bedroom furniture sets’, ‘teen bedroom furniture’ and ‘rustic oak bedroom furniture’ were all breakout searches.
Dining furniture
Dining furniture searches recorded six days of peak activity with an index value over 90. The most searched date was 22 June, which scored a full 100. Popular brand searches included Home Bargains, ercol, Sterling Furniture, Housing Units, Le Redoute, The Cotswold Furniture Company, CFS, Dwell, Heal’s and Next. The terms ‘tv unit’, ‘ercol dining table’, were high breakout searches, while ‘supremo garden furniture’ searches rose 4,650%, and ‘furniture in fashion’ searches were up 1,250%.
Living room furniture
Living room furniture saw four peak days during the month. The most searched day was 1 June that scored the full 100 score. Popular brand related searches included DFS, Sterling Furniture, Oak Furnitureland, Dusk, Barker and Stonehouse, Dunelm and IKEA. The terms ‘rugs’, ‘grey living room furniture sets’, ‘sofa bed’, ‘living room décor ideas’, ‘side tables for living room’, ‘chairs for living room’, and ‘green living room furniture’ were all breakout searches.
Sofas
Sofa searches saw seven peak dates, with the highest score of 100 recorded on 8 June. Popular related brand searches included Sofology, John Lewis, Sofa Club, Loaf, Oak Furnitureland, Swyft, Next, Tetrad, Dusk, Heal’s, G Plan – up 350%, Daals and The Cotswold Company. Search terms included ‘John Lewis barbican sofa’, up 140%, ‘clic clac sofa bed’, up 70% and ‘sofa bed sale’, up by 50%. Other terms included ‘loaf sofa bed’, up 40%, ‘chaise lounge sofa’, up 40%, ‘cream leather sofa’, up 40% and ‘loveseat’, up 120%. Furthermore, ‘laura Ashley sofas clearance’ saw searches rise 250%, while searches of ‘leather corner sofa’ increased 190% and searches of ‘3 and 2 seater sofa’ rose 250%.
Flooring & Carpets
Flooring searches saw six days scoring over 90, with the highest date being 7 June, scoring the full 100. Carpet searches saw eight days scoring over 90, with the highest date on 7 June scoring the full 100. Popular brand searches included Wickes, UK Flooring Direct, Carpetright, Amtico, Polyflor, Carpets Direct, Kidderminster Carpets, Mike’s Carpets, Victoria, Brintons and Tapi. Popular search terms included ‘hallway flooring ideas’ – up 130%, ‘best flooring for bathroom’, up 90%, ‘light grey laminate flooring’, up 50%, and ‘shaw carpets barnsley’, up 4,500%. Other terms included ‘wilsons carpets lincoln’, up 4,400%, ‘chris Davidson carpets’, up 3,900%’ and ‘budget carpets swansea’, up 3,850%.
