Bensons appoints ex-Loaf Director as new COO

UK bed specialist Bensons for Beds has announced the appointment of Rob Pierce as Chief Operations Officer.  The role will see him become part of the Executive team.

Pierce who will take up his role later this month, has significant sector, operations and customer service experience, having previously worked on the operational board for Loaf.com.  Prior to this he held several operational and customer roles at Rapha Racing Ltd and John Lewis.

During his time at Loaf.com, he led cross-functional teams, including warehouse, logistics, customer services, and quality. Rob has played a significant role in the progression of the business in recent years and has helped to support and continue to develop a culture focused on customers.

As the new Chief Operations Officer, Pierce will be responsible for logistics, customer service, and overall post purchase customer experience.  Gavin Chappell, Bensons current COO, will be leaving to take up a new role at Asda.

As we come to the end of the first half of our financial year it’s been pleasing to see encouraging sales growth, driven by our investment in training of our store colleagues, and digital platform, as well as the addition of a number of Carpetright stores.

“This and our continued tight control of costs has supported the continued improvement of our profitability. It’s a testament to the hard work of all our colleagues across the organisation, all of whom are dedicated to delivering our customers a better night’s sleep.”
