Furniture imports during November 2025 decreased on the same month last year while exports from the UK rose.
According to the latest UK trade data, analysed by Big Furniture Group, total imports of furniture into Britain valued £706.6m in November 2025, down 3.8% from £734.8m against the same month the previous year.
Imports from the EU registered an uptick of 4.2% to £343.8m from £329.9m. Imports from Italy were up 10% to £74.7m, while Polish imports rose 6% to £64.6m. Imports from Germany were also up 7.7% to £56.4m.
As for outside the EU, total imports were down 10.4% to a value of £362.7m from £404.8m. Chinese imports were down 11.7% to £253.6m, while Vietnam rose by 16% to £18.8m. Imports from USA rose 0.6% to £19.1m and Moroccan imports rose 13% to £13.2m.
Moving to exports, the total value of UK furniture leaving the country rose 22% to £247.6m from £202.6m year-on-year. In Europe, exports increased by 20.7% to £110.8m from £91.8m. Exports to France increased 25% to £32.8m, while Irish exports were up 6.6% to £24.6m. Exports to Germany rose 63% to £19.5m, while to Slovakia, exports were up 320% to £4.2m.
Outside the EU saw exports increase 23.4% to £136.7m from £110.8m. Exports to China were up 56% to £4.8m, while Singapore rose 454% to £6.1m. Exports to the UAE were down 34% to £6.1m, while the USA increased 37% to £75.9m.
