Furniture retailer Sweetpea & Williow has been placed into liquidation and ceased to trade.
Julian Pitts and Richard Kenworthy, both of BTG Begbies Traynor (Central) LLP, were appointed as joint liquidators of Sweet Pea & Willow London Limited on 18 March 2026.
Detailed in its most recent filed accounts for the year ended 31 March 2025, the company reported retained earnings of £1.4m, down from £1.9m the previous year.
In a new document on Companies House, the business owed preferential creditor employee claims almost £10,000, while the HMRC is owed £148,000.
Unsecured creditors are owed £686,000, with a further £83,000 owed to the HMRC and £41,000 owed to staff. Trade creditor claims totalled a combined sum of £410,000. It is expected that creditors will suffer a shortfall of £804,000.
In a statement, Sweetpea & Willow said: “This Company has ceased trading and is currently taking professional advice regarding its financial position.
“No new orders are being accepted. Customers and creditors will receive further information in due course. We appreciate your patience during this period.”
