Homeware sales maintained positive on the high street for a second straight week.
According to the latest BDO High Street Sales Tracker, total like-for-like (LFL) sales rose 1.78% for the week ending 16 November 2025.
Homewares total LFLs jumped by +11.00% from a base of +1.54% for the same week in 2024, marking the category’s second consecutive positive week and the thirty-fourth since 2025 commenced.
Store homewares sales fell by -8.15% from a positive base of +2.00%, marking the category’s third consecutive outcome and seventeenth so far in 2025.
Total store LFL sales went down by -3.12% from a base of -2.16% for the same week last year. Total non-store LFL sales rose by +6.28% from a base of -8.81% for the same week last year.
Commenting on the results, BDO said: “This week’s total LFL sales growth was driven by strong total non-store sales, chiefly led by online fashion, as total store sales declined for a second consecutive week.
“Non-store has now led retail outcomes for a third straight week. This week started mild and cloudy, but then transitioned to a colder, more unsettled period with strong winds, cold air and wintry showers in some areas.
“The same week last year saw dry and dull weather across the UK with colder temperatures and wintry conditions.”
Overall footfall decreased by -5.1% compared to the same week last year. Foot traffic on high streets dropped sharply by -6.5%, while shopping centres and retail parks witnessed a decline of -3.9% and -3.3% respectively.
