Homeware sales fell on the high street for a second straight week.
According to the latest BDO High Street Sales Tracker, total like-for-like (LFL) sales rose 3.46% for the week ending 15 March 2026.
Homewares total LFLs were down by -2.70% (after adjustments) from a base of +2.21% for the same week last year.
Store homewares sales increased by +2.00% from a positive base of +3.75% for the same week last year. Non-store homewares sales grew by +1.55% this week from a negative base of -0.10% last year.
Total store LFL sales grew by +2.86% from a positive base of +5.61% for the same week last year. Total non-store LFL sales grew by +7.29% this week, from a base of +3.35% for the same week last year.
Commenting on the results, BDO said: “Both store and non-store results grew this week, boosting total LFL sales. Across the UK, the week was generally cool and unsettled, from relatively mild early-spring conditions to colder, windier weather later in the week as Atlantic weather systems brought rain and colder conditions.”
Overall, footfall rose by +1.6% this week, led by shopping centre footfall which was up +4.4%, and retail park footfall which increased by +3.1%. High street footfall was down by -0.5%.
