Homeware high street sales remain positive for fourth week

Homeware sales maintained positive on the high street for a fourth straight week.

According to the latest BDO High Street Sales Tracker, total like-for-like (LFL) sales rose 0.38% for the week ending 30 November 2025.

Homewares total LFLs jumped by +7.23% from a solid base of +28.37% for the same week in 2024, signifying the category’s fourth consecutive positive outcome.

Store homewares sales slipped by -2.65% from a good base of +9.98%, marking the category’s fourth negative result in the past five weeks, while non-store sales for homewares remained positive for another week, growing by +11.85% from a base of +44.10%.

Total store LFL sales rose by +2.13% from a base of +14.39% for the same week last year. Total non-store LFL sales grew by +2.53% from a strong base of +23.40% for the same week last year.

Commenting on the results, BDO said: “In the final week of November, which also included the Black Friday promotional sales event, store and non-store sales remained in positive territory.

“The UK’s weather for this week was unsettled, mostly grey, damp and occasionally windy, with rain and frost at times.

“The weather during the same week last year was stormy, with heavy rain and strong winds, and some flooding caused by Storm Bert and later Storm Conall.”

Overall footfall dropped by -2.5%, a decline that was reflected in all tracked categories. Foot traffic in shopping centres declined by -3.6%, while it decreased by -2.6% on the high street, and by -0.9% in retail parks.
