Inspiring JFS for Scatter Box

The January Furniture Show at the NEC in Birmingham is always a key moment in the interiors calendar, but this year felt especially meaningful for Scatter Box.

From the energy on the stand to the conversations throughout the show, the response to Scatter Box’s new Edition 1 2026 collection was “genuinely inspiring”.

“As we look towards 2026, the prevailing mood across interiors is one of calm confidence,” the company said. “There is a clear movement towards homes that feel grounded, layered and emotionally reassuring – spaces shaped by longevity, craftsmanship and thoughtful design. Atmosphere, materiality and authenticity are taking precedence, and Edition 1 2026 reflects this shift across every category, with a focus on texture, tone and considered detail.”

Nature continues to be a powerful influence this season, interpreted in a refined and contemporary way. “Coastal Sanctuary captures this evolution beautifully, moving beyond traditional coastal themes to offer a softer, more elevated aesthetic,” Scatter Box said. “Airy neutrals, gentle linear patterns and tactile finishes reference driftwood shores and sea-washed landscapes, creating interiors that feel serene, modern and effortlessly liveable.

“Equally rooted in nature is Verdant Calm, a collection shaped by the growing desire for organic materials and botanical influence. Soft linens, nature motifs and earthy hues align seamlessly with current interior trends, while layered textures bring depth and warmth without overwhelming a space. It is a story designed to promote balance and stillness.”

Texture plays a defining role throughout Edition 1 2026, most notably within Velvet Reverie. “Here, modern opulence is explored through deep, expressive colour, cut velvet detailing and softly luminous surfaces,” Scatter Box continued. “Complementing this is Gilded Heritage, which offers a contemporary take on classic design, blending heritage references with modern palettes and subtle gold accents. Together, these collections celebrate craftsmanship, elegance and enduring style.

“For those drawn to statement interiors, Eternal Luxe introduces confident glamour through bold contrasts, sculptural pattern and metallic highlights. Plush velvets and rich tones create pieces that feel dramatic yet refined, designed to make an impact while remaining sophisticated and balanced.”

Artwork takes on increased significance within this collection, with a strong emphasis on hand-painted textures and mixed media. “From the calming presence of Narissa and Talia to the earthy, expressive character of Elm, Sevali and Viridis, the range reflects a growing appetite for art that feels tactile, layered and emotionally resonant,” Scatter Box added.

“A particularly meaningful launch for us is Whispering Woods, created to mark the ten-year anniversary of our iconic Whisper cushion. This special design celebrates a decade of one of our most loved cushions, reimagined with greater depth, richness and atmosphere to reflect how far the collection has evolved. Whispering Woods honours the aesthetic that has become synonymous with Scatter Box, combining intricate detailing with a timeless sense of style that feels both familiar and beautifully refreshed.

“Versatility remains at the heart of the collection too. Many designs are intentionally adaptable – from reversible cushions to neutral foundations enriched with accent tones, and textures that translate effortlessly across a variety of interior styles. This flexibility allows the collection to evolve naturally within the home, offering longevity and enduring relevance.”

January Furniture Show reaffirmed that Edition 1 2026 is closely aligned with where interiors are heading. “The response reinforced our belief in designing with purpose – creating collections that feel considered, relevant and quietly confident,” Scatter Box said.

“If you didn’t get a chance to see us at the January Furniture Show, the full Edition 1 2026 collection is now available to view on our new website, www.scatterbox.ie, and you can contact our sales team to arrange a store visit (IRL & UK) or book an appointment to visit our showroom in Navan, Co.
