The CEO of British furniture brand Loaf, Sam Perkins, has confirmed that he will leave the company later this month.
In a statement on the decision, Sam said that it has been a “brilliant” period of his career, with his departure ending over three years at the business.
“I announced to the company that I’ll be leaving Loaf later this month. It’s been a brilliant 3.5 years made so by the hugely knowledgable and passionate Loaf team and our wonderful customers,” Sam said.
“There is much I’ve been very fortunate to experience and learn during my time leading Loaf. One thing stands out. AI is fast becoming the most disruptive and exciting force that our industry has ever witnessed. Yet from what I’ve seen at the same time customers and colleagues want more than ever to spend their (precious) time – virtual and in real life – with brands with whom they feel they belong.
“And of course these two trends are not unrelated. I can’t think of anything more rewarding – professionally and personally – than striving to create this feeling. It’s always been important in retail; in my view it’s now essential.
“A heartfelt thanks to everyone involved in Loaf and I look forward to seeing what’s yet to come. I’ll see you in the Shacks!”
