Profit and sales down at upholstery fabric supplier

Wallcoverings and upholstery fabrics supplier Romo Fabrics has reported a decline in sales and profit.

According to its latest filed accounts for the year ended 31 December 2025, total sales dipped 3.5% to £57.5m from £59.6m in 2024.

UK sales were down to £22.8m from £23.7m, while EU sales fell to £15.8m from £15.9m. Sales outside the EU decreased to £18.8m from £20m.

Pre-tax profit resulted at £5.1m, down from £7m recorded the previous year.

Stated within its report, the company said: “The uncertain economic climate prevalent in recent years certainly continues into 2026. The Company expects to encounter further economic challenges in the future, and the Directors are therefore mindful to ensure the sound financial strategy of reinvestment in the business for growth, whilst carefully managing the cost base and profitability.

“Sales for the first half of 2026 remain steady and recent product launches give confidence that there is still opportunity for future growth in the market.”
