Textiles manufacturer posts another decline in sales

Yorkshire-based textile innovator the Think Group, which includes brands James Robinson Fibres and Texfelt, has reported a decline in sales and profit.

According to its latest filed accounts for the year ended 30 June 2025, total sales dipped to £19.9m from £21.5m in 2024.

UK sales fell to £16m from £17.5m, while exports were also down to £3.8m from £3.9m.

Pre-tax profit resulted at £369,000, down from £682,000 recorded in the previous year.

Stated within its report, the company said: “The market has remained extremely challenging throughout the year. In January 2025, we were impacted by the administration of our largest customer, and combined with wider difficulties across the furniture industry, this created a particularly tough trading environment.

“Despite these headwinds, the business has remained profitable, and we have continued to invest in our future. A major milestone was the refurbishment of our head office site, which has now been completed. This has allowed us to relocate all staff under one roof, improving collaboration and operational efficiency across the Group.

“As part of our forward-looking strategy, we have undertaken a rebranding initiative and now operate under the Think Group banner. This refreshed identity better represents our modern outlook and positions us for the evolving markets and products we are moving into. The Group’s structure and trading companies remain unchanged, and the new identity complements our long-standing commitment to customers, partners, and the traditions that built this business.”
