Yorkshire launches inaugural “Great Yorkshire Bed Week” to celebrate the heart of British bed manufacturing.
Yorkshire is preparing to throw open its showroom doors for the very first Great Yorkshire Bed Week, a regional celebration shining a spotlight on the craftsmanship, heritage and quality behind locally made beds.

Taking place from 22 – 26 March 2026 during National Bed Month, this coordinated initiative will see participating bed manufacturers and retailers across Yorkshire and the Humber welcome customers for exclusive morning and afternoon sessions, offering behind-the-scenes insights, hospitality and the chance to meet the makers themselves.
The Heart of British Bed Manufacturing
Yorkshire is the undisputed home of British bed manufacturing. The region accounts for 61% of the UK’s registered bed manufacturers, with more beds made here than anywhere else in the country.
From the historic mill towns of Dewsbury, Batley, Bradford, Leeds and Wakefield, more than 150 bed businesses represent the pride, resilience and skill of British manufacturing – many operating from the same historic mill buildings that once powered the textile revolution.
The Great Yorkshire Bed Week provides a powerful collective platform to celebrate that legacy while championing innovation and modern excellence.
A Unique Customer Experience
Throughout the week, customers will have the opportunity to visit participating showrooms across the region, where they can meet manufacturers and industry experts face-to-face and gain a deeper understanding of the materials, craftsmanship and sustainability behind Yorkshire-made beds. Visitors will also enjoy warm Yorkshire hospitality while exploring the quality and heritage that define the region’s manufacturing excellence. Convenient morning and afternoon sessions – including a Sunday option – will be available to book, making accessible for everyone to take part.
The initiative makes it easier than ever to buy British, buy local and buy quality, while strengthening consumer trust in products proudly made in Yorkshire.

Why Manufacturers Are Getting Involved
The Great Yorkshire Bed Week offers participating businesses a powerful platform for growth and collaboration. Through coordinated regional marketing, manufacturers can benefit from increased footfall driven directly to their showrooms. By standing alongside fellow leading manufacturers, businesses enhance their credibility while collectively championing Yorkshire’s reputation for quality.
Participants will also gain from shared promotion across campaign materials, social media and press coverage, ensuring wide-reaching visibility. The initiative fosters regional pride, helping to reclaim and reinforce the narrative around Yorkshire-made excellence. In addition, businesses can take advantage of valuable networking opportunities — including half-price tickets to the region’s Manufacturing Resilience Forum Buy Tickets – Manufacturing Resilience Forum – Nexus, Leeds – all while enjoying minimal effort and maximum impact, as marketing, booking systems and overall coordination are managed centrally.
Aligning with Regional Innovation
The event aligns with National Bed Month and runs in conjunction with the region’s Manufacturing Resilience Forum — a one-day conference bringing together leading manufacturers to share insight on building resilience in a challenging economic landscape.
This is more than an industry initiative. It is a collective statement about Yorkshire’s manufacturing leadership, innovation and enduring craftsmanship.
As the industry prepares for National Bed Month, the message is clear: Yorkshire is not just part of Britain’s bed industry – it is its beating heart.
