Stephen Blunsten, Managing Director of independent beds and mattresses retailer World of Beds, is taking on an epic charity walk to raise money for The Feed.
Inspired by his personal experience and a connection to the local community, Stephen hopes to raise £5,000 and awareness for those facing food insecurity.
Stephen is taking on a 225-mile walking challenge around Norfolk and Suffolk over nine days, which started from 12th July 2025 and will ‘walk’ to the 20th July.
Commenting on the fundraising initiative, which has raised just over £3,000 at the time of publication, Stephen said: “Twelve months ago, I bought a business called World of Beds and I knew from the start I wanted to support a charity.
“The Feed really stood out to me – your mission to help people in crisis with dignity and respect really resonates with me. The Feed is the kind of charity my mum would have loved.
“She passed away last year and this challenge is very much in dedication to her. I’m one of four boys and growing up there were times she didn’t eat so we could.
“We didn’t realise at the time but looking back, it’s clear she was making sacrifices for us. I know that if The Feed had existed then, we’d have used their services.”
Stephen is aiming to walk around 25 miles a day and started at The Feed on Hall Road in Norwich. Heading into Suffolk, joining Peddars Way, he will then walk along the Norfolk Coast Path to Great Yarmouth, and finally looping back to finish at The Feed.
“This is the first time I’ve planned a challenge like this entirely myself – route, logistics, everything – so I’m looking forward to seeing it all come together,” Stephen said.
“Plus, I’ll get to see some beautiful countryside. I’ll be taking lots of photos and videos along the way; it’d be fantastic to have people follow my journey using #Miles4Meals to raise as much awareness as we can.
“I’m doing this to make a difference – and anyone can do the same in their own way. I’ve come a long way but I haven’t forgotten where I came from. This walk is about giving others the chance to move forward too.”
