Independent furniture and carpet retailer Leslie Cleeland has revealed plans to open a new warehouse.
According to a planning application submitted to Cumberland Council, the retailer, which is based on Main Street in Cockermouth, plans to convert the Lakes Electrical Supplies store located on Station Road.
Detailed in the plans, the company intends to change the use of the property from retail to a warehouse as well as installing 10 removable locking security bollards, proposed to be finished in bright yellow for high visibility.
The application said: “Positioned in front of the existing building, these bollards prevent unauthorised vehicle access while preserving pedestrian safety.
“The bollards are removable, enabling emergency and authorized vehicles to pass when unlocked. Pedestrian and wheelchair access is fully maintained, as the bollards are spaced to allow clear passage.”
