Homeware sales on the high street experienced a double-digit decline as overall sales fell.
According to the latest BDO High Street Sales Tracker, total like-for-like (LFL) sales fell -7.81% for the week ending 14 June 2026.
Homewares total LFLs (adjusted basis) fell by -18.00% this week, from a positive base of +8.04% for the same week last year.
Store homewares sales decreased by -4.25% this week, compared to +8.97% for the same week last year. Non-store homewares sales decreased by -30.10% this week, compared to +9.70% for the same week last year.
Total store LFL sales saw the biggest fall since the start of the year, falling by -7.62% this week, compared to a positive base of +3.49% for the same week last year. Total non-store LFL sales fell by -4.15% this week, compared to a positive base of +10.97% for the same week last year.
Commenting on the results, BDO said: “The UK experienced a mixed and changeable week of weather, from warm/calm conditions early in the week to more widespread showers midweek, before a drier weekend.”
Springboard data showed overall footfall fell sharply by -3.7% this week, led by high street footfall (-6.6%) and shopping centre footfall (-2.3%), while retail parks footfall increased by +1.1%.
