Sofas & Stuff delivers top line growth; launches AI agent

Bespoke furniture business Sofas & Stuff has reported a growth in sales.

According to its latest filed accounts for the year ended 31 December 2025, total sales rose 9.5% to £27.4m from £25m in 2024.

Sales were predominantly UK-based, up from £24.8m to £27.4m, while EU sales fell to £49,000 from £201,000.

Pre-tax profit resulted at £41,000, down from £372,000 recorded the previous year.

Stated within its report, the company said: “2025 saw the group grow top line sales in a very tough retail market, where consumer sentiment was fragile at best. To a large extent this was down to the success of the brand building marketing campaigns that have seen the Sofas & Stuff brand becoming significantly better known, and loved, year on year. This is a strategy for the medium term and an investment for the long term.

“A new store was opened in in a prime location in central Richmond, one of the most desirable places to live in the UK and continues our new store strategy of looking for smaller stores in much more premium positions. These stores continue to trade better than some of the larger older format stores and will be a strategy we stick with for the future.

“Most excitingly, Sofia, our Al sales agent was launched right at the end of the year. Created by a family member, Sofia can search over 3 million options and then give correct prices in seconds as well as offering alternative products that may be of interest. This will fundamentally change the way our shop colleagues interact with customers and will enable them to offer ever better levels of service and advice. We believe this tool is almost unique in our industry and will help to set us apart for some time to come.

“Finally, 2025 was, we believe, the last year of significant losses from our manufacturing division. Every indication is that after 4 years we will have built a manufacturing plant from scratch, that taking depreciation aside will break even or be in profit in 2026 and beyond. This is a significant achievement and one we are rightly proud of. Making personalised furniture is not one you can easily sub-contract, as anyone wanting to try and do as we do, will find out.”
