Office furniture group Ocee International has reported a growth in turnover as losses widened.
According to its latest filed accounts for the year ended 30 June 2025, total sales rose 14% to £36.6m from £31.9m in 2024.
Pre-tax losses resulted at £5.3m, widening from £2.7m recorded in the previous year.
UK sales rose to £20.7m from £15.3m, while EU revenues decreased to £13.9m from £14.9m. Outside the EU, sales were up to £1.9m from £1.6m.
Ocee International is the parent company of Ocee Design, Four Design ApS, Race Furniture and Southerns Broadstock Interiors, and specialises in the manufacture of furniture for offices, universities, theatres and airports.
Stated within its report, the company said: “The most significant change in the year was the incorporation of Southerns Broadstock Interiors Limited (SBIL) in January 2025. This enabled the group to significantly expand its presence within the University, Public sector and Healthcare markets in the UK.
“The Group successfully transitioned the assets and staff from the former Southerns Broadstock Ltd business to SBIL. This included the significant long-term investment made in the TUPE for all staff members, securing strong supply chain partnerships with all major furniture manufacturers, restructuring the organisation to be customer centric focussed and operationally efficient.
“The confidence in the future of SBIL under the ownership of OCI has been demonstrated by successfully securing the novation of all framework agreements and the delivery of major projects including Oxford University.
“In addition to this successful transition, incremental working capital has been provided to SBIL after the year end to ensure that the company remains on a strong financial footing. SBIL will continue to receive investment and support to build a leading position within its market sectors.
“Within Ocee & Four Design we have had a strong focus on strengthening the sales leadership team in the UK and Nordic regions while also significantly strengthening our marketing resources and activities.
“Race Furniture continues to be strongly recognised as a leading supplier within the theatre and auditorium sector through the strength of its design capability, broad product portfolio and expertise in project delivery. This resulted in securing several very prestigious projects in the UK and Europe.
“In the year ended June 2025 the group turnover grew by 15%, excluding the new SBIL company the like for like turnover declined by 4%. Through strong supply chain management and production efficiencies our like for like gross profit was 28.3%.”
