Creditors of 55 furnishing businesses owed over £20m

In the latest Insolvency Digest, creditors of 55 furnishing businesses entering liquidation or administration are expected to suffer a combined shortfall of £20.1m.

Robert Gibbons, of Arrans Limited, was appointed as liquidator of bedroom furniture store The Bed Center Ltd on 27 February 2026. The HMRC is owed £75,000, while unsecured creditors are owed a combined sum of £77,000. These include a further £13,000 owed to the HMRC. It is expected that creditors will suffer a shortfall of £153,000.

William Batty, of Antony Batty & Company Ltd, was appointed as liquidator of furniture manufacturer LB Group House of Brands Ltd on 26 February 2026. Unsecured creditors are owed a combined sum of £2.1m, with the majority of £1.8m being owed to Flag Invest & Finance Inc. It is expected that creditors will suffer a shortfall of £2.2m.

Steven Muncaster and Daniel Ormerod, both of Leonard Curtis, were appointed as joint liquidators of furniture retailer Charnock Furniture NW Ltd on 27 February 2026. The HMRC is owed £4,800, while unsecured creditors are owed a combined sum of £36,000. It is expected that creditors will suffer a shortfall of £33,000.

Kevin Mapstone, of BTG Begbies Traynor (Central) LLP, was appointed as administrator of Pagazzi Lighting (Concessions Limited, while George Lafferty, of BTG Begbies Traynor (Central) LLP, was appointed as administrator of Pagazzi Lighting (Services Limited, both trading as Pagazzi, on the 26 and 27 February 2026 respectively. For the first business, preferential employee claims stood at £29,000, while the HMRC is owed £25,000. Unsecured creditors are owed £408,000, with creditors expected to suffer a shortfall of £510,000. As for the second business, preferential employee claims stood at £81,000, while the HMRC is owed £566,000. Unsecured creditors are owed £2.1m, with creditors expected to suffer a shortfall of £2.4m.

Avner Radomsky and Michael Goldstein, both of RG Insolvency, were appointed as joint liquidators of furniture sales business Jatoris Limited, trading as Stock Clearance Company, on 3 March 2026. Unsecured creditors are owed a combined sum of £37,000. These include £30,000 owed to directors. It is expected that creditors will suffer a shortfall of £36,000.

Paul Atkinson and Glyn Mummery, both of FRP Advisory Trading Limited, were appointed as joint liquidators of furniture manufacturer Muntjac Furniture Limited on 26 February 2026. The HMRC is owed £69,000, while unsecured creditors are owed a combined sum of £6,800. It is expected that creditors will suffer a shortfall of £72,000.

Anthony Davidson and Bradley Parrott, both of Opus Restructuring LLP, were appointed as joint liquidators of furniture manufacturer Ideal Furniture Limited on 26 February 2026. Preferential employee claims stood at £19,000, while the HMRC is also owed £297,000. Unsecured creditors are owed a combined sum of £23,000, while RBS Invoice Finance is also owed £83,000. It is expected that creditors will suffer a shortfall of £507,000.

Tauseef Rashid, of Qimzen Advisory, was appointed as liquidator of furniture manufacturer IYR Trading Ltd on 3 March 2026. Unsecured creditors are owed a combined sum of £116,000 and are expected to suffer a shortfall of the entire amount.

Joph Young and Elizabeth Welch, both of Leonard Curtis, were appointed as joint liquidators of furniture manufacturer O&CO Limited on 4 March 2026. The HMRC is owed £14,000, while unsecured creditors are owed a combined sum of £73,000. It is expected that creditors will suffer a shortfall of £75,000.
