Next posts positive half year as sales and profit grow

Fashion and homewares retailer Next has reported a growth in half year sales and profit.

According to its latest trading update for the six months to July 2025, total group sales rose 10.3% to £3.2bn from £2.9bn in 2024.

Group pre-tax profit resulted at £515m, up 13.8% from £452m compared to the previous year.

Next said retail store sales rose 3.7% to £899m, with online sales growing 11.1% to £1.2bn.

The retailer added that wholly-owned brand and licences sales, which includes furniture brand MADE, reached £97m, an uptick of 14.7%.

Looking ahead, Next added: “Guidance for full price sales growth in the second half is +4.5% versus last year, giving guidance for the full year of +7.5% (unchanged from our 31 July Trading Statement).

“Full year pre-tax profit guidance is unchanged at £1,105m (up +9.3% versus last year).”
