Independent carpet retailer MCP Carpets has responded after a fire destroyed its store in Retford.
The incident took place on 27 April 2026 where crews from Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue attended the scene on Hospital Road.
At its height, there were seven fire engines, an aerial ladder platform and a command support vehicle in attendance. There were no reports of any injuries and a fire investigation in to the cause is underway.
MCP Carpets said in a statement: “We’re truly heartbroken to share that we have experienced a devastating fire at our premises.
“As a family-run business, this is incredibly difficult, but we are so grateful to confirm that everyone is safe and no one was harmed. That is what matters most.
