Independent rug business Desert Rug Gallery has announced plans to close.
Situated on George Street in Aberdeen, the business has confirmed it will close for the final time on 18 July 2026.
The company, which specialises in handmade Persian rugs – with many imported from the Middle East, opened back in December 2023 but has decided to call time due to sourcing becoming more difficult.
The business added that its lease at the premises is due to expire in July, so also weighed towards the decision to close.
In a short notice, the business said: “All stock reduced! Store closing. Everything must go!”
