Sales and profit grow at carpet maker

Carpet manufacturer Cormar Carpets has reported a growth in turnover and profit.

According to its latest filed accounts for the year ended 30 September 2025, total sales rose 3.9% to £145.2m from £139.7m in 2024.

Pre-tax profit resulted at £13.6m, up from £8.5m recorded against the previous year.

UK sales were up to £140.5m from £135m, while EU sales rose to £4.7m from £4.5m.

Stated within its report, the company said: “The year to 30th of September 2025 saw a strong business performance by the company with demand for our carpet remaining robust throughout the year despite a very competitive environment. Sales volumes were up 5.6% year over year.

“Stable raw material prices and strong cost control helped mitigate fluctuations in dollar exchange rates, which in turn enabled us to maintain competitive prices to protect volumes. Government changes to NI and the NMW will have an impact on our margins, but we are addressing these changes by our continuing efforts to drive efficiency.

“This together with our continued programme of product launches, and our underlying emphasis on maintaining service and quality provides us with a degree of optimism for the year ahead.”
