Sales grow at family furniture business

Family-run furniture store Andersons of Inverurie has reported a growth in sales.

According to its latest filed accounts for the year ended 31 October 2025, total sales rose 4.6% to £11.3m from £10.8m in 2024.

Pre-tax profit resulted at £441,000, down from £693,000 recorded the previous year.

Stated within its report, the company said: “The trading results reflect a small increase in activity levels after a reduction in the prior year. Economic conditions put pressure on household incomes and have led to challenging conditions for the retail sector as a whole.

“Gross profit margin levels have been maintained and the Directors are satisfied that this has been a good year given the market conditions it is operating in. The Company and wider Group remain in a strong financial position and as such the directors remain confident that the business can successfully manage against periods of low demand.”
