Michelle Elliot and Callum Carmichael of specialist business advisory firm FRP were appointed as Joint Administrators of Lanfine Limited, which also traded under the name The Honesty Works for its direct-to-consumer online sales through Etsy and Shopify, on Friday 10 July 2026.
Based in Darvel, Ayrshire, the Company had operated for more than 30 years as a wholesaler of soft furnishings, supplying curtains, cushions and other home furnishings to UK retailers. Its principal customers included Laura Ashley and, more recently, John Lewis.
The appointment follows a period of increasing cost pressures, which reduced margins and impacted profitability and cash flow. The business was also affected by recent supply-chain delays arising from unrest in the Middle East.
The Company’s director explored a number of options to secure further funding, including refinancing, but those efforts were unfortunately unsuccessful.
All 19 employees have sadly been made redundant. The Joint Administrators are now supporting those affected with claims to the Redundancy Payments Service.
