UK searches of furniture during June 2026 saw garden furniture perform well for a sixth straight month, while administration news spiked with overall searches up, particularly in carpets, John Lewis and Oak Furnitureland.
According to Google search data analysed by Big Furniture Group, three days during June 2026 saw ‘furniture’ searches record an index score of 90 or more, while a score over 80 came in at 14 days. The highest searched date was 28 June with a full score 100.
Google index’s its search data to 100. This means where 100 is the maximum search interest for the term selected, it is the highest value and indicates a high internet search.
The results saw high related searches of specific terms that included ‘uk furniture company administration’, ‘furniture village chester’ and ‘oakfurniture land’, as well as ‘john lewis mattress’, up 40%, and ‘john lewis curtains’, up 60%.
Other search terms Big Furniture Group reviewed included mattresses, bedroom furniture, dining furniture, living room furniture, sofas, carpets and flooring.
Mattresses
Mattress searches recorded three peak dates with an index score value of 90 or more. The highest searched date was 7 June with a full score of 100. Popular related searches included ‘mattress online’ – up 550%, ‘premier inn mattress’ – up 250%, ‘toddler beds with mattress’ – up 70%, ‘cooling mattress topper’ – up 60%, and ‘8 sleep mattress’ – up 60%.
Bedroom furniture
Bedroom furniture searches recorded two days of peak activity with an index value over 90. The most searched date was 7 June, which scored a full 100. Popular related searches included ‘howdens bedroom furniture’, ‘space saving bedroom furniture’, ‘headboard’ – up 100%, and ‘sideboard’ – up 130%. Meanwhile, ‘fully assembled bedroom furniture’, ‘wayfair bedroom furniture’, ‘full bedroom furniture sets’, and ‘m&s bedroom furniture’ were all high performing searches.
Dining furniture
Dining furniture searches recorded three days of peak activity with an index value over 90. The most searched date was 21 June, which scored a full 100. Popular related searches included ‘john lewis dining table and chairs’ – up 350%, ‘next garden furniture’ – up 150%, ‘chest of drawers’ – up 110%, ‘dining bench’ – up 100%, and ‘oak furnitureland’ – up 100%.
Living room furniture
Living room furniture saw one peak day during the month. The most searched day was 28 June that scored the full 100 score. Popular related searches included ‘living room side tables’ – up 130%, ‘wayfair living room furniture’ – up 90%, ‘sofa bed’ – up 350%, and ‘large rugs for living room’ as a high breakout search.

Flooring & Carpets
Flooring searches saw nine days scoring over 90, with the highest date being 3 June, scoring the full 100.
