The parent company of furniture and homewares retailer Ponden Home has reported a growth in sales and profit.
According to the latest filed accounts for Purepay Retail, which trades through The Edinburgh Woollen Mill, Ponden Home and Bonmarche, ended 24 February 2024, total sales rose 16.5% to £229m from £196.4m in 2023.
Pre-tax profit resulted at £9.7m, improving from £861,000 recorded the previous year.
Stated within its report, the group said: “The Group and company continued its progress that commenced in the previous financial period, to re-establish a nationwide retail business to meet the needs of its customer base, with further strategic store openings in the period and organic growth, delivering a strong and robust turnover of £229.1 million and operating profit of £15.264 million.
“This provided the Board with further confidence that they were making the right decisions within the business and providing a sustainable offer for the future.”
