Bensons for Beds opens new Selly Oak store

National bed retailer Bensons for Beds has announced the opening a new 5,598sqft store at Battery Retail Park in Selly Oak, Birmingham, as the specialist bed and mattress retailer strengthens its presence in the city.

The new store, which officially opens on Friday 17 July, has created five local jobs, including two full-time roles and three part-time roles.

Located at Battery Retail Park, close to the M5, M42 and M6, the new store will have access to a large catchment area of customers looking for expert advice on beds, mattresses and bedroom furniture.

The store will be led by Store Manager Elizabeth Green, who will lead the local team in helping customers find the right sleep solutions through expert advice, product guidance and Bensons’ in-store technology.

Customers visiting the new Selly Oak store will be able to explore 52 beds and mattresses and three furniture sets, with a range that includes Bensons’ owned brands Slumberland, Staples & Co and Simply by Bensons, alongside partner brands including Mammoth, iGel, Hypnos, Tempur, Sealy and Simba.

Luke Homer, Regional Manager for the Midlands at Bensons for Beds, said: “Selly Oak is an important opening for Bensons as we continue to grow our presence in key markets where we know there is a strong opportunity to reach more customers.

“Birmingham is an area where Bensons has been underrepresented, and this new store gives us a great location in the south of the city, with excellent access for customers across a wide catchment area.”

Elizabeth Green, Store Manager at Bensons for Beds Selly Oak, said: “We’re really excited to be opening the new Bensons store in Selly Oak and welcoming customers through the doors. Whether people are looking for a new mattress, bed frame or bedroom furniture, our team will be on hand to offer friendly, expert advice and help them find the right choice for their home and their sleep.”

The Selly Oak opening supports Bensons’ wider strategy to strengthen its national store estate and grow its presence in important local markets, while continuing to invest in the colleague-led service and expert advice that sits at the heart of the business.
