Flooring textiles firm posts slight sales uptick

Flooring textiles manufacturer Phoenox Textiles has reported a slight uptick in sales.

According to its latest filed accounts for the year ended 31 March 2025, total sales rose 2.4% to £20.8m from £20.3m in 2024.

Pre-tax profit resulted at £2.2m, down from £3m recorded in the previous year.

Stated within its report, the company said: “Sales have remained strong in difficult economic conditions affecting consumer confidence in a volatile retail marketplace. Despite continued industry wide pressures on costs, the company has been able to maintain a healthy gross profit margin.

“Stock levels have been managed across the business, which has allowed for the reduction in stock holding to £5.6million. Cash has reduced due to the Board’s continued programme of investment in new plant for the business. The market remains challenging, but the directors are confident of future growth in coming years.”

Adrian Mosley and Charles Mosley, directors of Phoenox Textiles, commented: “While the retail marketplace has thrown up industry wide cost pressures over the last year, our focus has been on resilience and the future.

“We’ve deliberately maintained a strong investment programme into new plant and technology at our factory. This investment is already paying off, putting us in a fantastic position to support our retail partners and drive our next phase of sustainable UK manufacturing growth.”
