Homeware sales on the high street remained positive for a fourth straight week as overall sales increased.
According to the latest BDO High Street Sales Tracker, total like-for-like (LFL) sales rose +6.37% for the week ending 12 July 2026.
Homewares total (adjusted) LFLs increased by +3.87% this week, from a positive (adjusted) base of +7.77% for the same week last year.
Store homewares sales fell by -5.20% this week, compared to -5.18% for the same week last year.
Non-store homewares sales increased by +2.95% this week, compared to -0.91% for the same week last year.
Total store LFL sales grew by +4.71% this week, compared to a negative base of -1.68% for the same week last year. Total non-store LFL sales increased by +3.13% this week, compared to a positive base of +14.06% for the same week last year.
Commenting on the results, BDO said: “For the second week in a row, both store and non-store saw positive total LFL sales growth this week, driven by a second week of positive total LFL sales across all the retail categories (Lifestyle, Fashion, and Homewares).
“The dominant weather story across the UK during the week was the third heatwave of the year, driven by persistent high pressure. Most of England and Wales experienced prolonged hot and dry conditions, while Scotland and Northern Ireland were somewhat cooler, but still warmer than average.”
Springboard data showed overall footfall fell by -1.2% this week, driven by high street footfall which fell by -3.3%, while shopping centre footfall was flat at 0.0%. Retail parks footfall increased by +2.0%.
